I'll feed back to you when I try it out next month. Thanks for you help. No chipset drivers either, which resulted in an unknown "coprocessor" device.
However, if it's any help to anybody, I eventually solved both issues like this: 1. Choose Vista 32bit. Navigate to the installation folder for the chipset driver, right-click and left-click Properties - Compatibility tab, check the box "Run this program in Compatibility Mode for " drop-down list and also the box "Run this Program as Administrator". Run , saying yes to any UAC dialogue boxes which appear. Once all is finished and working, you will find that Windows 7 updates for all these drivers are miraculously available via Windows Update!!

Im not a techy but ive had some experience in repairing pcs and this driver is tricky and illusive but here is what you need, its actuall an xp driver but it worked for me where others havent. You need 7-zip or Winrar to extract the files into a folder called , then inside that folder another foler called Click on the start button and on computer, Right-click and select manager, select device manager from the list to the left in the manager box.
